The What and Why

Everyone who crosses the path of a person with neurodevelopmental differences can become a dynamic force that helps that person and their entire family thrive and be their absolute best. At Kaiser’s Room (and in collaboration with Melody of Autism), we develop training and development opportunities for our teaching artists and other collaborators that help them embrace the miracles and opportunities disguised in everyday moments. We base all our teachings on current research and the belief that a sensory-smart, relational connection is the doorway to harmony, growth, and development. 

This training intensive will be a collaborative and transformational learning experience where together, we grow our capacity and ability to bond deeply with our clients through authentically understanding their unique opportunities and challenges. We experientially engage topics to create a foundation of knowledge and practice that supports us all as special needs professionals and develop a strong capacity to manage what we typically face, while protecting our emotional and physical well-being.

In this one-day experience, we will explore…

• Rapport development with neuro-distinct humans by capitalizing on their motivations

• Creating and working on goals that reflect what the client wants for themselves, utilizing their interests and motivations

• Integrating typical therapy goals into normal daily activities

• Supporting the client through awareness and engagement with their whole family as an ecosystem

• The application of current autism research and practice in a useful and effective way

• Understanding behaviors, defusing challenging ones, and facilitating behavioral changes

• Social and communication development in fun, engaging age-appropriate ways

• A toolbox of positive self-care methods to re-energize and spark creativity
